Mental Health After Selling a Business
Consider routines, relationships, privacy and support after a business sale, with a practical approach to the transition beyond the transaction.
Read guideA private mental health relationship for founders, business owners and senior leaders, through demanding periods, major decisions and changes in life.

You may be the person others turn to for decisions, reassurance and direction. Finding somewhere to discuss your own concerns can be harder when personal, family and business relationships overlap.
ARCSENA provides a personal point of contact for organising suitable mental health support. We begin with the question you want help with, the professionals you already trust and the practical demands around your life. A business title does not need to define the conversation.
Help finding appropriate assessment or treatment when pressure, sleep difficulties, mood changes or substance use are affecting life. The relevant clinician determines what care is needed.
Arrange support when the end of an intense chapter brings questions about identity, purpose, relationships or what comes next.
Identify relevant psychological or family expertise when personal concerns intersect with inherited expectations, leadership changes or family relationships.
Connect the treatment plan with practical arrangements before a period of leave, during care and on returning to everyday responsibilities.
There should be room for your own health within a life spent taking responsibility for others.
You can retain the Office personally. An executive assistant may handle an appointment or travel arrangement while the clinical conversation remains between you and the treating professional. Family, board or employer involvement has its own purpose and permissions.
If a company funds access, payment does not automatically confer clinical access or control over treatment. Any occupational assessment, fitness-for-work opinion or employer report is a separate professional role, explained before it is undertaken.
Information, consent and fundingThe Office can help bring several elements together: a specialist opinion, existing therapy, care during travel and practical support at home. The aim is to reduce the work of arranging care and make the next step easier to understand.
An ongoing retainer suits a continuing relationship. A defined-period engagement may fit a particular transition, with a review and handover agreed from the outset. Clinical treatment, legal advice and business decisions retain their own responsibilities.
Explore the relationshipARCSENA is a mental health coordination office. The starting point is the person’s health and care needs. If coaching or another form of support is relevant, its role should be clearly distinguished from clinical assessment and treatment.
There is no automatic reporting relationship. Any disclosure depends on the agreed purpose, appropriate permission and applicable legal or professional duties.
Yes. Existing clinical relationships are the starting point. With your permission, the Office can help coordinate them and identify any gap requiring additional expertise.
